Rather than building a series of fly rods and simply hyping them as the "best," we set out to discover what best really meant. We asked the most well known fly fishers and casters in the world what they felt was a perfect rod. The answer was simple... there is no perfect rod. "The best rod is the one you need to accomplish the task at hand." Form follows function.

A Design That Works
Beaverkill rods take advantage of ALL the properties of carbon fiber, rather than being parodies of bamboo rods. Never before have rods been created as a family, each perfectly related to the other and each perfectly designed for its intended job. And never before has a family of rods been created with such casting qualities. The ability of these rods to drive and manipulate a line is absolutely unique; yet their smooth and delicate feel during the cast needs to be felt to be believed.

Three Actions
Beaverkill Fly Rods are totally new and fresh from the reel seats up, to totally reflect the enormous capabilities of carbon fiber. Only the power and light weight of carbon fiber can allow truly "Progressive Actions." These are rods that continue to accept a line load while changing very little in overall performance characteristics.

The Load Flex Concept
In addition to designing our rods to be truly progressive actions capable of handling three different line weights, we also designed our rods so that different portions of the rod flex under different line loads. We call this LOAD-FLEX.

LOAD-FLEX 1 These beautifully smooth rods employ the upper third of the blank to do the flexing during a standard 30-foot cast. With a line one size heavier, the rod performs as a LF2. With two lines heavier the rod performs as a LF3.	LOAD-FLEX 2 These rods are built so that the mid section generates the Load-Flex. These extremely smooth rods return the tip with speed and precision and deliver a cast with a delicate, yet sure ease. The mid rod flexure of the LF2 allows these rods to cast a line one size heavier or one size lighter. This allows the use of lighter line for delicate presentations or a heavier line for wind conditions or a heavier fly.	LOAD-FLEX 3 These rods flex in the upper portion of the bottom section during a standard cast. The line is delivered with extreme smoothness and surety. All LF3 rods can accept a line one or two sizes lighter than specified when a more delicate presentation is required. The rod will behave as a LF2 or LF1 respectfully.
